Since 1997, when I introduced my Copywriting In Action course at RMIT University, it has earned a reputation for being the copywriting course of choice for marketing and communication practitioners.
The Copywriting in Action Live-On-Line School is a digital adaptation to provide what on-campus copywriting courses cannot:
(1) 100% "me time" for you to learn and train with a professional copywriter (think "master-apprentice" collaboration)

Space and time to complete a minimum 3 projects during the course (it
takes at least three cycles of practice to embed discipline and skills)
(3) The convenience of never missing a class when "life happens" (rescheduling is always made possible)

The opportunity to decrease your carbon footprint by never having to
travel to the course (every step counts toward healing our planet)
My
style of teaching is highly collaborative and methodical,
combining theory into practical writing projects I provide and/or you
bring to the
sessions. We establish at the beginning what your objectives are so that
I can customise the course accordingly, but maintaining the structure
throughout - which is based on The Anatomy of Body Copy.
Over the years, I have found this project-driven approach most effective for participants to learn and apply the critical strategic and creative processes behind powerful communication. It also gives you a more direct, and therefore lasting, learning experience.
You'll find the spirit of The CWiA School captured in my book, Copywriting in Action. It's a dramatic adaptation of my copywriting courses, in the tradition of the 'Socratic dialogue'. Naturally, you'll get a complimentary copy when you register into this course and you'll be expected to read Chapter 1 by session 2.
A Brief Biography
My background is in advertising - copywriter and art director. About 30 years. Big international agencies - DDB and Saatchis. Boutiques like my own, The Di Tempora Group. Freelance copywriter since 1998.
My other background since 1996 is in editing and education. Member Editors Victoria. Teacher at RMIT (copywriting, clear writing and art direction) and Centre for Adult Education (copywriting and editing). Since 2013, Director of the Copywriting in Action Live-On-Line School.
In summary, I teach what I practice and I practise what I teach: clear, concise
and compelling writing for effective communication.
And I look forward to the opportunity to teaching everything you need to know about the art and science and psychology and music and mathematics and so on of writing clear, concise and compelling copy.
