Celebrating and supporting the amazingly inspiring year since Maria's life changing stroke.
On this day... 5 November... exactly 1 year ago, Maria Venuti AM had her life changing stroke.
We can't believe how far she has come, and she's nowhere near done yet! So we didn't want to let this huge milestone pass without pausing to reflect and celebrate together her inspiring achievements over this time.
A true performer who has, against all odds, shown what is possible and given the performance of her life from the get go. From 1 year ago when we were being asked by neurosurgeons if she would want us to try to keep her alive given the extremity of her bleed, to ICU doctors that were 'very, very worried', to her slow but steady recovery in rehab, enabling her to now be home and keen for an excuse to get frocked up and hopefully wheel onto a little mini stage - perhaps even try out a microphone in her hand for a song with some special friends, including the fabulous TREVOR ASHLEY!
We have been so overwhelmed by all of the beautiful support to date (we couldn't be here without all this amazing love!) and it is definitely true that recovery is a long road... full of ups and downs; the need for a massive team of experts, helpers and friends; and hopefully as many special times like this that we can manage for mum's new normal.
