Basic Auslan Course - 8 weeks
3 August 2015 9:00AM Curtin University,, Kent Street, Bentley, WA, Australia.Hello wonderful TSA members and friends!
We are very excited to announce a special event we have arranged; a Basic Auslan Course, running over 8 weeks!
It is our pleasure to welcome WA Deaf Society to Curtin University, where they have kindly agreed to run two Basic Auslan courses for us, over the first eight teaching weeks of Semester Two!
Auslan is based on two-handed signs and incorporates two-handed alphabet (fingerspelling). It is a visual language using signs to create meaning via the hands, orientation, location, movement and expression (HOLME). Signs are related to concepts not words.
As this is a hands-on workshop series, we are able to accommodate a maximum of 40 people (20 per class). There is a class on Wednesdays from 12-2:30pm, and one on Thursday evenings from 5-7:30pm.
We will require online payment to secure your booking! Please be certain before you book, as we are unable to offer refunds, but can change the name on the purchased ticket :)
This event starts in the first week of Semester Two (week starting 3rd August), and continues through the first eight teaching weeks.
There are no classes on the tuition free weeks! We will confirm a venue once the university has completed class timetabling for Semester Two, which is likely to be in July :)
Jump online to book a place now, we're looking forward to seeing you there!
xoxo, TSA
